December Talking Point: Women Business Owners

Dr. Marsha Firestone, founder and president of the Women Presidents’ Organization and author of The Busy Woman’s Guide to Successful Self-Employment, is the recipient of numerous awards and in March 2003 was appointed to the National Women's Business Council.

In our “10 Questions” interview, Firestone discusses concerns facing American women entrepreneurs. While she would be the first to acknowledge that over the last few decades enormous progress has been made, she is realistic enough to admit it is a case of taking two steps forward and one step back.

    ·         Do those of us who have daily interaction in our lives with women business owners have any power to change the perception?

    ·         What role can financial planners play when working with women business owners?

    ·         Should financial planners' approach to women business owners be different?

    ·         What do financial planners predict about the future for women business owners?

    ·         What lessons can women business owners learn from financial planners?

    Discuss it here.
